Milwaukee’s on Tuesday approved an additional $200,000 in potential spending on a road project it is sharing with the village of Menomonee Falls.

The project that is rebuilding a section of North between West Brown Deer and West County Line roads started earlier this month.

Inc., Milwaukee, made the low and contract-winning bid of $992,219.37, coming in ahead of the initial budgeted amount of $800,000, or $400,000 per municipality.

Now that final designs and plans are finished, the project budget, which includes the potential for cost overruns, has been set at $1.2 million, or $600,000 per municipality.

The larger project budget now goes to Mayor Tom Barrett for approval.
