Sentry Insurance’s corporate headquarters project draws attention to the company’s identity and collaborative priorities.
The building, which was completed in January 2019, was designed by Flad Architects and built by J.H. Findorff & Son. Pierce Engineers provided engineering services.
The first floor serves as a central social hub, bringing staff employes and visitors together in a bright, two-story open lobby space with garden views across an exterior terrace that frames the corporate headquarters in the distance. It features a large full-service kitchen, cafeteria, fireplace lounge and bustling coffee bar.
Custom upholstered lounge seating in the shape of the Sentry logo serves as the focal point of the space, and the organization’s blue color scheme provides a literal and psychological connection between the physical space and company’s branding.
Primary office functions are housed on levels three through six and organized around the two open-plan office wings. A variety of height-adjustable ergonomic workstation configurations with varying partition heights help meet Sentry’s goal of providing a comfortable open-office setting.
Natural light and lines of sight to the exterior of the building provide a deeper connection to the campus.
The seventh floor accommodates group events and national-account meetings with large meeting rooms, dining services and a variety of indoor and outdoor breakout spaces.
“Overall, the new office building provides Sentry Insurance with an energizing, flexible environment that inspires people and creates a modern workplace that fosters innovation, collaboration and connectivity,” said Melissa Hooks, of Flad Architects. “The new facility enhances the organization’s ability to recruit and retain quality employees dedicated to a future of continued success.
