Maiken Westphal, recently named CEO of Westphal & Co., Inc., represents the fourth generation of her family to lead the 93-year-old company. Succeeding her father, John Westphal, Maiken previously served as Vice President of Preconstruction, where she focused on preconstruction operations, recruitment, and company culture. She co-owns the business with her brother, Fritz Westphal, and has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth, including securing its largest project to date.

With a degree in Biochemistry from UW-Madison, Westphal’s career at the company began in hands-on roles, such as Electrician Helper and Assistant Project Manager, before advancing into senior leadership positions. Under her guidance, Westphal & Co. has refined its estimating methods and business strategies, contributing to substantial growth. Maiken is also committed to mentoring future industry leaders through her involvement with UW-Madison’s Construction Club and other organizations supporting women in construction. She continues to drive innovation and excellence at Westphal & Co.
