An Army veteran who lost both his legs in Afghanistan on Tuesday became the second Republican to announce a bid for Congress to replace former U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy, who represents northern Wisconsin, saying Tuesday that he will join President Trump to defend veterans, protect the border and fight "socialist interference" in the economy.

Transportation bills seek to balance higher revenue with reforms

Wisconsin Republicans say a proposed gas tax is dead-on-arrival and have introduced a set of transportation bills calling for a funding alternative and a number of department overhauls meant to cajole skeptical lawmakers into assenting to a revenue increase.
