The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is conducting a public information meeting to present the recommended preferred alternative for the proposed roadway expansion in the WIS 241 (27th Street) Corridor, from College Avenue south to the Racine County/Milwaukee County line.
The meeting is scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. James Church, 7219 S. 27th St., Franklin.
The meeting will follow an informal, open house format that allows citizens to meet individually with project staff. The goal of the meeting is to obtain feedback on the preferred alternative developed for the corridor. No formal presentation is scheduled. Project representatives will be available to discuss the proposed project and address any questions or concerns, according to WisDOT.
The approximately six-mile corridor would become a six-lane facility throughout the project limits. The project will include roadway and intersection alternatives, changes to median openings and driveways, and right-of-way impacts.
For more information, callt Vida Shaffer, WisDOT project manager, at (262) 548-6766. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Shaffer at 141 NW Barstow St., Waukesha, WI 53188.
