An industry-led multi-day camp for middle-school aged girls to learn about the construction trades will return in 2026.
She Builds Wisconsin Construction Camp is a free summer camp program to allow girls to explore the construction, architecture and engineering fields. Hosted in different parts of the state throughout the summer, the camp offers tours building sites and construction businesses and opportunities for campers to connect with women in the industry.
Construction continues to have high demand for more labor as many workers get ready for retirement and ongoing megaprojects drive demand for new workers across the U.S. It remains a lucrative career early on, with apprentices making overall median salaries nearly six figures.
The Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin and its partners will offer four camp dates and locations this year.
Campers will about construction careers through hands-on activities and projects and offer connections with industry professionals. They will also take field trips to building sites and local construction businesses. Campers will also be provided with safety gear and camp T-shirts and lunch and snacks each day.
