Gov. has announced around $143 million of combined Environmental Protection Agency money for wastewater and infrastructure, the governor’s office announced on Wednesday.

The EPA announced a $79 million grant to Wisconsin through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and its State Revolving Funds program, federal officials said. The agency also approved $64 million to replace lead service lines and address emerging contaminants like PFAS, the governor’s office said.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is accepting online Intent to Apply notices from municipalities for financial assistance from Wednesday through Oct. 31, the governor’s office said. Submitting a notice is required before a municipality can submit a formal application for funding.

The BIL will provide nearly $800 million over five years to Wisconsin’s SRF program, which contains the Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water loan programs, the governor’s office said. The Badger State has partnered with the EPA to implement the SRF program before, and the agency has given $6.2 billion in financial assistance to remove lead service lines from Wisconsin cities and towns since 1991.
