Milwaukee-based GRAEF acquired an Illinois company as part of an effort to streamline its processes.
The civil engineering company on Thursday announced it acquired Rosele, Illinois-based Ken Boitz & Associates (KBA). KBA will operate as GRAEF and serve as an extension of the company’s steel detailing services.
KBA was established in 1985 and worked on “some of the Midwest’s most iconic architectural landmarks,” such as Union Station, Roosevelt University and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, company officials said in a statement. KBA’s portfolio includes high-rise buildings and rail systems, officials added.
“We’re thrilled to join GRAEF and become part of a respected, forward-thinking company,” said Larry Dearman, president and owner of KBA, in a statement. “After more than four decades of detailing steel, it was essential for us to partner with a team that values precision, strong relationships, and the lasting impact of our work. With GRAEF, we’re confident our legacy will continue to thrive, and we look forward to offering even greater value to our clients.”
Dearman will continue his career with GRAEF, officials said.
The acquisition is part of the civil engineering firm’s efforts to bring more talent and technology in-house and streamline its processes, officials said.
“The integration of Ken Boitz & Associates is a natural fit for GRAEF,” said Mike Vogel, leader of company campaign GRAEFaccelerāte. “Their expertise in steel detailing and commitment to quality align perfectly with our values. KBA’s impressive portfolio, including work on some of Chicago’s most iconic structures, speaks volumes about their capabilities, and we are confident this acquisition will propel us forward and help maintain our leadership in the industry,” he added.
