Northwestern Mutual contractors to host pre-bid meeting

Schmidt Inc. and Providence, R.I.-based Gilbane Building Co., the general contracting team for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.’s new downtown Milwaukee office tower, will host a pre-bid meeting and networking session Wednesday for contractors interested in working on the project.
The session will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Manpower’s headquarters, 100 Manpower Place, Milwaukee. The session will include information for small business enterprises, disadvantaged business enterprises and prime contractors. The project has a 25 percent small business utilization requirement and also includes a requirement that 40 percent of on-site hours be worked by Milwaukee residents.
