Teerlinck named to New North’s board

‘s Scott Teerlinck has been named to the board of directors of New North Inc.

Teerlinck has been president at Werner Electric Supply in Appleton since January 2013. He spent the prior 19-1/2 of his professional career with Rockwell Automation.

hires community relations manager

Faith Technologies recently hired Renee Torzala to fill its newest position of community relations manager at its corporate headquarters in Menasha.

In her new role, Torzala will be responsible for leading Faith’s community relations strategies, including supporting the fundraising and program development for Faith’s major philanthropic project, the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve’s new environmental center.

CBRE bolsters industrial team with 4 hires

Sam Badger, Whit Heitman, Brad Weiner and Jared Paff have joined CBRE to oversee the industrial and logistics leasing and sales practice in northern Illinois and southeast Wisconsin.

Badger and Heitman, senior vice presidents, and Weiner, first vice president, join CBRE from Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based NAI Hiffman. Paff, a vice president, joins the firm from Transwestern.

Miron honored for its giving

For the fifth year in a row, surpassed its campaign goal, raising more than $180,000 for United Way.

Miron received the Employee Campaign Manager/Team of the Year Award for the third year in a row in the medium organization category (151 to 499 workers) for its 70 percent growth in overall giving, and the Kimberly-Clark Giving Award for the second year in a row for its 57 percent increase in employee giving.

In addition, the company was recognized with the Leadership Giving and Emerging Leader Award for growing Leadership Givers (donors who pledge $1,000 or more) by 43 percent in 2016 and Emerging Leaders (donors age 40 and under who pledge $500 or more) by 45 percent.

H.J. Martin wins customer service award

has won a Best of Customer Service award from Houzz. The fourth-generation, family owned company was chosen by the more than 40 million monthly unique users that comprise the Houzz community from among more than 1 million active home building, remodeling and design-industry professionals.

Its 2017 recognition marks the fourth consecutive year that H.J. Martin and Son has been honored by Houzz.

Also, David Martin, a fourth-generation leader at H.J. Martin and Son, has been elected to the Retail Contractors Association board.

The Retail Contractors Association is a national organization of retail contractors that promote ethics, safety, quality and professionalism within the retail construction industry.

MPS to host event for contractors, vendors

Milwaukee Public Schools will hosting its first annual Business Symposium on Feb. 23 at ManpowerGroup, 100 Manpower Place, Milwaukee.

Contractors and vendors interested in doing business with the district are encouraged to attend the event, which includes a series of workshops focused on diversification and economic and workforce development.

Sessions include:

  • Doing Business with the district;
  • Leveraging certifications for historically underutilized businesses;
  • MPS strategic partners;
  • Effective capacity building resources; and
  • Businesses matched to department contract sponsors.
