A northeast Wisconsin electrical supplier has acquired another company operating in Wausau and Minocqua.
Appleton-based Werner on Monday announced it acquired Wausau-based ETCO Electric Supply Inc. The acquisition was made effective Friday, March 27 and Werner will serve as the point of contact for ETCO’s service areas and customer base, officials said.
The details of the acquisition weren’t immediately shared.
ETCO Electric Supply served as an electric supplier for residential and commercial construction since 1972. The company had locations in Wausau and Minocqua.
“This acquisition is a win for customers across Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan,” said Craig Wiedemeier, Werner president, in a statement. “It’s an opportunity for Werner to strengthen our presence in the region and expand our ability to provide electrical solutions for residential and commercial construction. At the same time, the ETCO team gains the scale, resources and stability of a larger organization—creating new opportunities for growth while preserving the local relationships that matter most.”
Originally Werner Electric Supply, Werner rebranded in October 2025. The company has 11 locations in northern, central, south and southeast Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
