It’s clear that Aleana Tucholka has a bright future.

After completing an apprenticeship program and finishing at the top of her class, Tucholka was immediately made a foreman.

She is a member of Heat & Frost Insulators Local 19 and takes every opportunity she can to promote the trades to other young women interested in the construction industry.

“Aleana has inspired many more females to enter the trades from all the time she volunteers at helping out at career fairs all over southeastern Wisconsin,” said Brett Large, business manager with Local 19. “Aleana is as hardworking and dedicated to her craft as anyone I have ever met. She is a perfect role model for any young woman interested in starting a career in construction, and is an incredible asset to Local 19.”

Tucholka won the Local 19 apprenticeship competition and was also victorious in the Midwest States Conference Master Apprentice Competition, where she faced off against apprentices from locals around the Midwest.

“She will now be competing in a competition put on by our International Union where she will compete against the best of the best from all over North America,” Large said.

Tucholka is currently a foreman for the mechanical insulation contractor she works for, assisting other workers on job sites as well as running projects. She’ll be taking a “teaching techniques” training course this summer to further her skillset.
