Payne + Dolan scores $2.59M resurfacing contract in Kewaskum

Payne + Dolan will start construction work on nearly two miles of U.S. Highway 45 through the village of Kewaskum.
Gov. Tony Evers contracted the Waukesha paving company to resurface U.S. 45, also known as Fond du Lac Avenue, for $2.59 million. Construction starts July 8.
Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials said work will affect U.S. 45 between westbound County H and westbound Wisconsin Highway 28. Crews will resurface all pavement, improve traffic signals and create curb ramps that meet ADA standards.
During the first phase of construction, southbound traffic will be maintained for local traffic only as crews rebuild northbound lanes. Phase two will shift traffic on newly paved lanes as crews reconstruct southbound lanes.
Work is expected to be completed in fall of 2024.
