PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE: Irgens on Thursday broke ground on a multi-tenant retail building inside The Shoppes at The Corridor, part of a 66-acre mixed-use development in Brookfield. The overall project has gone on for the past 10 years.

The final addition already has tenants on board; Waukesha Walk-In Vet will occupy roughly 6,000 square feet and Emler Swim School will occupy around 5,000 square feet, Irgens officials said. The developer is working with Kevin Schmoldt of Newmark on prospects for the remaining vacant space, and a grand opening is expected in summer 2025.

“After first envisioning the potential for The Corridor in 2014, we are proud to break ground today on the final capstone project that will complete the development and bring highly visible and flexible space to the area for retail and service providers,” said Rob Oldenburg, the senior vice president of Irgens, in a statement.
