PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE: Pet food maker Nestlé Purina announced its Jefferson facility has been completed.

The company added 35,000 square feet of manufacturing space to the facility with a $355 million investment, officials said. The addition will increase wet pet food production by 50%, a previous news release showed.

The company and the state of Wisconsin announced the investment in April 2024. The project would be supported by $1.7 million in performance-based tax credits from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, which are based on how many jobs are created and amount of capital investment.

In the initial project announcement, state officials said expansion will create 100 jobs.

The addition was completed and the new production line started in June 2025, company officials said.
