Corporate Contractors, Inc. delivered a 43,000-square-foot, three-level ABC Supply Learning Center in Beloit, Wisconsin, completing the $33.8 million design-build project in January 2025. The state-of-the-art facility serves associates from more than 970 ABC Supply branch locations nationwide, featuring a 130-seat auditorium, 4,000-square-foot flexible training space, media recording studio, podcast area and a capacity for 900 people.

The project navigated significant challenges, including contaminated soil removal, the unexpected discovery of 30-foot-deep concrete and steel foundations from a former power plant, and underground maintenance tunnels. CCI divided construction into north and south phases to maintain schedule and delivered the project under budget. The absence of exterior basement access required all HVAC equipment to be maneuvered through the wet well before sealing. Proximity to a primary campus road — just 18 feet away — demanded a site-specific safety plan that contributed to zero accidents throughout construction.

A value engineering recommendation by CCI to substitute fixed high-STC glass for a moveable glass wall saved the client approximately $80,000. Innovative materials included USG Ensemble and Planx acoustical ceiling systems and Solarban glazing from Oldcastle. An expansive cantilevered roof deck mitigated solar impact on the full-height west curtain wall while creating a covered outdoor patio.
