Illinois-based Mid-States Concrete Industries on Tuesday announced it has acquired Germantown-based International Concrete Products, bringing two precast concrete companies under one roof.
South Beloit-based Mid-States had 223 employees before the acquisition and added 39 workers from ICP, a spokesperson said. Both companies specialize in architectural precast concrete systems.
ICP was founded in 1987 by John L. Bisswurm, Mike Bisswurm and Matt Graf, according to the company website.
Mid-States started in 1946. Both companies are under family leadership across several generations, officials said.
Jeremy Olivotti, vice president of sales and marketing for Mid-States, said in a statement the company’s vision is to be the safest and most innovative precast building company, and acquiring ICP makes this a reality.
“Mid-States Concrete Industries is honored to have the responsibility of stewarding the recognized company the Bisswurm family has built,” Olivotti added.
John Bisswurm, founder of ICP, said his company will become the high-end architectural precast division of the Mid-States family.
“The similarities in both corporate cultures made this a natural fit to ensure the long-term success of both organizations,” he added.
ICP is PCI AA certified, which represents the most highly complex certification for precast concrete, officials said. The certification is for producers of highly complex shapes and has the highest tolerance required, officials added.
Hagen Harker, president of Mid-States Concrete, said the two companies together adds value for customers with an easier subcontracting process, faster product delivery and higher return on investment.
Mid-States has had a hand in products such as the ABC Supply Stadium in Beloit, the Kenosha Public Safety Building and Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
ICP has been involved in projects with Lambeau Field and the 44-story Couture tower in Milwaukee, according to the company website.
