PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE: Neenah-based Miron Construction is leading construction of ThedaCare Medical Center – Fond du Lac, a hospital that will be open 24 hours a day. Construction started in February 2024, and the medical system expects to open early 2025.
The hospital will have emergency care, inpatient beds and 24/7 coverage with board-certified emergency medicine physicians, Froedtert ThedaCare Health officials said. There will be round the clock computed tomography (CT) scans, x-ray and ultrasound services, officials added.
“We are encouraged by the progress taking place at ThedaCare Medical Center-Fond du Lac and are excited as some of the final stages of construction are nearing completion,” said Robert Cavagnol, MD, MHA, FACS, north region president of Froedtert ThedaCare Health. “It is important that our health care system is here in the Fond du Lac area to meet the needs of our patients and communities, and ensuring they receive convenient access to the care they expect and deserve,” he added.
The new facility will include fifty geothermal bores going 500 feet underneath the building, part of a mechanical system to manage temperature inside, officials said. This will be the first building in the Froedtert ThedaCare Health group to use geothermal technology, officials added.
A separate Froedtert ThedaCare hospital is under construction in Oshkosh. Officials said the project is also expected to be completed in 2025.
