New year, new Interstate 94 road closure Wisconsin drivers should be aware of.
Beginning Jan. 5, Hawley Road will be closed from the south side of Park Hill Avenue to the north side of Hawley Court, Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials confirmed to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
It’s the latest closure associated with the state’s $1.7 billion I-94 East-West Project. Several other roads and ramps are currently either closed long-term or permanently to accommodate the ambitious years-long construction.
This phase of the years-long construction has been dubbed the West Leg Segment. The work – roughly west of General Mitchell Boulevard – is expected to last until late 2028, though the work is weather dependent and subject to change, per WisDOT officials.
This stretch of Hawley Road is expected to be closed until 2028.
“Access will be maintained for businesses and residences within the closure,” the department said.
