A Wisconsin contractor was given high marks for expertise for work in a currently booming, high-tech part of the construction industry.
Menasha-based Faith Technologies, Inc. was named Associated Builders and Contractor’s No. 1 contractor in the high-tech and data centers market sector, the association announced alongside its 2026 Top Performers List.
The list recognizes contractors’ achievements in health and safety, quality, project excellence, ranked by number of hours worked, officials said.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based general contractor Turner Industries Group was named No. 2026 ABC Top Performer by work hours, officials said.
“These contractors – which build the nation’s most enduring, innovative, high-quality construction projects – develop smart strategies that create a clear path for success, regardless of the circumstances,” said Michael Bellaman, ABC president and CEO, in a statement.
U.S. data center construction has seen an uptick as companies invest more money into artificial intelligence. In September, Oracle and OpenAI unveiled its $500 billion Stargate project to build data centers and megaprojects in states such as Texas, New Mexico, Ohio and Wisconsin.
The “Lighthouse” project in Port Washington includes four data center buildings on a 672-acre campus, which will use nearly a gigawatt of power with a $15 billion investment.
Meanwhile, tech companies such as Microsoft and Meta are building their own data centers in Mount Pleasant and Beaver Dam respectively.
FTI is looking to redevelop the former University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh-Fox Cities campus in Menasha into a “national hub for workforce development and advanced technology training,” officials said. It’s not clear when redevelopment will happen, but FTI will offer advanced electrician training for sectors such as data centers.
Following Turner in ABC’s list were Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based MMR Constructions Inc. for top trade and electrical contractor. The association also awarded Dallas-based plumbing and HVAC contractor TDIndustries, Inc. and Houston-based specialty contractor Apache Industrial Services.
