A paint and coating manufacturer is looking to build a new at its Pleasant Prairie location.

Vernon Hills, Illinois-based Rust-Oleum Corp. submitted plans for a 32,152-square-foot office building addition to its existing site at 8105 W. 95th St. Around 75 company employees will use the one-story building, and the project will include conference rooms, meeting rooms, dining spaces and laboratory spaces, plans showed.

Rust-Oleum’s proposal is scheduled for a public hearing on Oct. 21 during a village Plan Commission meeting, according to village officials.

Company officials want to break ground in October 2024 and complete the project in October 2025, plans showed.

Project partners include Rosemont; Illinois-based Peak Construction; Riverwoods, Illinois-based Partners In Design Architects; and Brookfield-based Pinnacle Engineering Group, according to plans.

There are 15 office workers already employed at the location, plans showed. The project will make space for another 60, bringing the total number of workers after construction to 75.

The new office will have a total of 96 parking spaces.

Floor plans included spray booths and two laboratories, chemical storage and a shipping and receiving area. Company officials said new building won’t require new environmental control permits, according to an application to the Kenosha Water Utility.
