Dorothy Snow started her career 26 years ago as a marketing assistant for Plunkett Raysich Architects after earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UW-Milwaukee.
Since joining Altius Building Co. in August 2020, she has rebranded it, including the redesign of all collateral materials and its website.
Her most recent feat is the creation of the company’s new podcast, “Behind Closed Boards,” with the goal of sharing knowledge within the built environment, while also immersing fun in the workplace and building relationships.
“Not only was this Dorothy’s idea, but she also branded the podcast, books the guests, produces the content, edits and publishes each episode. She then leverages it virtually. A phenomenal effort that is on top of her dual role as a project coordinator for the company,” said Scott Drees, Altius’ president and CEO.
Snow also has helped the company expand its social footprint through programs such as AltiusACTS, a community outreach initiative that focuses on a range of needs such as STEM, veterans, robotics, mental health and underprivileged populations.
“These experiences are all part of the Altius way,” she said. “It’s a strategic game of chess and I thrive on creating the next strategy, implementing the next tactics, watching what happens and measuring the results.”
Throughout her career, Snow has also been a partner in her husband’s rough and finish carpentry business, Oak Tree Construction, a company focused on single-family residential projects since 1992. For her, the ability to work for Altius has been a complete career circle, one that connects her with her former colleagues throughout the industry.
“The planning, design and construction process itself is daunting, and being able to help partners through it like a beacon of light is what binds lifelong partnerships. We truly are here to build it better together,” Snow said.
