Brothers James, Jalin and Clifton Phelps founded JCP Construction in 2008 as a small family business. Over the past decade and a half, the Milwaukee-based firm has grown to 95 team members and completed roughly 500 projects alongside major firms.

JCP Construction has built a reputation as one of Wisconsin’s most respected construction partners, landing projects such as Fiserv Forum, the Summerfest Grounds, the Northwestern Mutual headquarters, ThriveOn King and the Baird Center.

The minority-owned general contractor offers services from pre-construction planning to self-performed work. JCP Construction describes its approach as built on “excellence, integrity, and impact,” with a focus on delivering high-quality, on-budget results for clients managing large-scale developments or specialized renovations.

The company says its work extends beyond construction. “We are builders with purpose — shaping communities and helping businesses grow through dependable service and impactful outcomes,” according to JCP Construction.

The firm positions itself as more than a contractor. With a commitment to building “safely, responsibly, and with a focus on long-term success,” JCP Construction says clients “gain a partner who is passionate” about their projects’ success.
