When Sharon Hulce started in construction 27 years ago, she stood out as one of two women nationwide specializing in construction recruitment in a male-dominated and transactional industry.

“Over time this has changed, but I wanted to be part of the spark that helped employers understand how to build engaging cultures and how to help potential employees ask the right questions to identify the right culture for them,” she said. “I have especially made sure women are posed and ready to succeed in the construction space. My years of experience have given me a unique lens on what they can do to be successful.”

Hulce’s efforts have left a substantial imprint on Wisconsin’s economy and construction industry.

“An underappreciated factor in the growth of Miron Construction has been the hard work Sharon Hulce and her team undertake for us,” said Dave Walsh, executive vice president of human resources. “Simply put, we would not be where we are today without Sharon’s prodigious contributions.”

Hulce has been honored with the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region’s Walter L. Rugland Community Service Award, the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce’s Gus A. Zuehlke Distinguished Service Award, Small Business of the Year Rising Star Award and ATHENA Leadership Award.

She was named a Wisconsin Titan 100, an Enterprising Woman of the Year by Enterprising Women magazine, an Employ Humanity Inspirational Leader, and MRINetwork’s 2020 Person of the Year. ERG has received recognition as a Forbes Top Executive Search Firm (2019-2023) and The Daily Reporter Reader Rankings’ Best Construction Recruiter (2020).

By offering her search services free of charge, Hulce has been instrumental in enabling nonprofit organizations to allocate their already constrained budgets directly toward service provision and beneficiary support, exceeding $6 million in donated fees back to the Fox Cities and neighboring communities.
