The will use a $313,774 federal to drum up development interest in areas damaged by floods.

The U.S. Department of Commerce grant, announced Wednesday, is to study 30 Wisconsin counties that flooded in 2008. The study will generate a list of the qualities that could lure new development. The information will be used to market the counties and to produce four shows that will air on television and put on DVDs for trade shows and conferences that pack in developers.

Private companies will kick in $313,774, bringing the total cost of the project to $627,548. The studies and television shows are to be done and ready for distribution in mid-2011.
