Edgerton moves forward on plans to build new hospital
Edgerton Hospital and Health Services announced Friday it has secured financing and will be moving ahead with plans to build a new hospital.
The $26 million hospital will be located on a 69-acre site east of Edgerton on Highway 59.
The hospital has been awarded a Federal Housing Administration mortgage insurance loan which has given it the financial backing it needs to begin construction.
Hospital services will include inpatient, outpatient, surgical, diagnostic, 24-hour emergency care, urgent care and rehabilitation services.
The hospital’s foundation has received $1.6 million in pledges and donations so far, according to a press release from the hospital. It’s looking to the community for further support in reaching its goal of $3.1 million.
Construction will begin on the hospital in early 2010 with completion expected in spring 2011, the release said.
