Project challenge: Building the new additions and doing interior remodeling amid school activities. Bringing up to date the existing heating-and-cooling systems and fire alarms.
Significance to the district: The project allowed the district to move fifth-graders out of the three elementary schools that feed into Glacier Creek Middle School, helping to mitigate overcrowding. It also provided additional room for the gymnasium and cafeteria.
Point of interest: The project entailed a new fifth-grade wing, a new fieldhouse, a geothermal HVAC system for the new additions and a new outdoor amphitheater.
