WRTP | BIG STEP will team up with the Latino Academy of Workforce Development to host the 2024 Partners in Construction Diversity Career Fair.
The event kicks off on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 3-7 p.m. at the Latino Academy of Workforce Development Inc. at 2909 Landmark Place in Madison.
The fair focuses on getting a diverse pipeline of people into the trades, and lets adults interested in construction careers network with local employers and unions, according to a news release. Employers and unions are seeking registered apprentices as well.
WRTP | BIG STEP traditionally works with union construction building trades. Officials said high-road area employers, higher education institutions and community organizations will attend.
Visitors will be exposed to registered apprenticeship career pathways and different ways into family sustaining careers in the union construction trades, officials said.
In 2023, more than 20 partners met and interacted with attendees and the number of partners has grown for this year’s event, officials noted.
Hooper Corp., R.G. Huston Co. and Parisi will sponsor the career fair.
