Palermo’s plans 200,000-square-foot West Milwaukee facility

Family pizza maker Palermo’s will build a 200,000-square-foot production facility in West Milwaukee, three miles from the company’s headquarters.

The pizza production facility at 3900 W. Lincoln Ave. will provide 50 new skilled labor positions, officials said. The site was home to the former Froedtert Malt/Malteurop plant.

The facility will be developed and constructed by Milwaukee-based The Dickman Company, Brookfield-based Briohn Builders and Fond du Lac-based Excel Engineering, officials added.

Plans must be approved by West Milwaukee‘s Plan Commission, Community Development Authority and the Village Board. Palermo expects to break ground in August and have the building completed in June 2025.

Officials said expansion was a response to demands in the marketplace and employee growth.

“Our priority is to keep market competitive jobs local and that means growth at our company headquarters on Canal Street in Milwaukee, continuing to increase capacity at our recently added Jefferson, Wisc. facility, and now the development in West Milwaukee.” said Giacomo Fallucca, CEO and chairman of the board for Palermo’s.

“The 50 new positions we will be creating are skilled labor roles which require specific training and are key roles in our manufacturing process. They are in line with our current manufacturing positions and provide market competitive wages,” he added.

John Stalewski, West Milwaukee’s village president, said in a statement the state-of-the-art food production facility would be a “welcome addition” to the village industrial base. “Palermo Villa, Inc. is a dynamic, growing company and would be a great community partner,” he added.

Palermo’s will also expand its parking lots at the company headquarters on Canal Street in Milwaukee to support growth and employee needs, officials said. More than 1,200 people work for Palermo, said Angelo Fallucca, president of Palermo’s Pizza.

“We continue to see demand for our pizzas increase and are being proactive to meet future needs,” he added.
