MPL Express Vending Library

Need a way to pass some time on a bus? A fix is on the way.

An express vending library and bus shelter is now out to bid in the city of Milwaukee.

The 24-hour vending library is to be constructed near North 64th Street and West Silver Spring Drive, near the Housing Development owned by the Milwaukee Housing Authority.

Westlawn Renaissance LLC, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Public Library System have teamed up for the project. Plans drawn by Kindness Architecture & Planning, Milwaukee, include a bus shelter/library vending station complete with lighting, seating, security cameras and signage.

A variety of material will be made available at the stations, including books, music CDs and other informational material.

Quotes are due to the Housing Authority on April 23. A pre-quotation meeting is planned for April 16 at the Westlawn Gardens Community Room, 5555 N. 62nd St., Milwaukee.
