For nearly 100 years, Milwaukee Tool has been a leader in the construction industry.

The company continues to grow and in 2020 construction began on a 215,000-square-foot facility in Menomonee Falls. The project consisted of creating a new facility to house the company’s Research and Development and Video/Photography Studio.

Half of the facility, which includes a spacious mezzanine, is devoted to new product video and photography and includes a mixed-use events area. The other half is dedicated to a highly technical laboratory and testing space.

Milwaukee Tool’s new Research and Development space allows it to complete in-house extensive life and reliability testing, rapid prototype development and field testing on its products. The building features open office space, private offices and conference rooms with a strategic floor plan and windows.

The facility was built during the pandemic, and as a result the construction team experienced global steel shortages and long lead times on steel procurement. Riley Construction, which served as the general contractor on the project, and Milwaukee Tool collaborated with the structural engineers to redesign the structure in order to advance the project schedule.

The project was completed in April 2022.

“The company’s extraordinary growth trajectory is creating career opportunities for graduates of our colleges and universities, as well as luring talented people to southeastern Wisconsin from across the world,” said Gale Klappa, co-chair of Milwaukee 7 and executive chairman of WEC Energy Group.

“Our state is extremely grateful that Milwaukee Tool continues to expand and invest in Wisconsin,” added Gov. Tony Evers.
