WINONA, Minn. (AP) — A western Wisconsin health care provider is closer to its goal of becoming energy independent by 2014.
Winona County commissioners approved conditional use permits Tuesday for Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center’s wind farm.
Gundersen, based in La Crosse, plans to build three wind turbines and a substation on 315 acres near Lewiston. According to the Winona Daily News, construction could start as early as this fall.
