Significance to the region: The Florida Lofts will be in Milwaukee’s Fifth Ward and adjacent to the Iron Horse Hotel. The building will have a fitness club, space for shops, recreational rooms for rent, loft apartments and lofts. Residents will have 126 parking spaces. The apartments will have high ceilings, large windows, stainless-steel appliances, washers and dryers, and granite or concrete countertops.
Point of interest: The apartments are being added to the former Ziegler Candy Factory, which was built in 1907.
