Medical college breaks ground on Milwaukee office building

The Medical College of Wisconsin has broken ground on the construction of a 225,000-square-foot office building to house as many as 1,200 faculty and staff members.
The six-story building will be on the Milwuakee Regional Medical Center campus and will unite faculty and staff, currently scattered throughout the campus, under one roof, according to Flad Architects, the Madison-based firm that designed the building.
Additionally, the building will be physically connected to existing educational and research buildings to the north and the Froedtert Hospital patient care facilities to the south.
“By activating connections between people and place, the building represents an exciting opportunity in the evolution of MCW, said Laura Serebin, of Flad Architects, in a news release. “Faculty and staff will interact in new and unforeseen ways that will cross traditional boundaries and will drive innovation and discovery, defining MCW as a leader in the future of health.”
