Best Women Owned Businesses: Jennifer Podevels-Cianciolo

Jennifer Podevels-Cianciolo, president and owner of Best Erectors Inc., has spent 20 years in the construction industry and now leads her company with a focus on family, legacy and hard work.

Podevels-Cianciolo said her greatest career accomplishment is learning the trade from her father, Howard Wurgler, who retired and sold his company earlier this year. She credits him with passing on the knowledge that continues to guide her career. One thing she said she’s very proud of is carrying on his legacy and passing it down to her own children.

As a business owner, Podevels-Cianciolo said her drive comes from her children and her team. “(I want to show my children) how to be a leader, not a boss, to show them how to work hard and nothing is just given to you in life.,” she said. “Without (my workers) and their hard work I would not be where I am,” and added she felt more like family than coworkers and that she was proud of every one of them.

Podevels-Cianciolo and Best Erectors are certified through WBE, DBE, WBENC and SBE, strengthening their commitment to representing women in construction.
