Best Women Owned Businesses: Diane Hendricks

Diane Hendricks is chairwoman and co-founder of ABC Supply, the nation’s largest distributor of roofing materials and a leading supplier of siding, windows, gutter, wallboard, metal framing and ceiling tiles.
She co-founded the Beloit, Wisconsin-based company with her late husband, Ken, in 1982. After Ken’s death in 2007, Hendricks became chair and has since led ABC through its two biggest acquisitions: Bradco in 2010 and L&W Supply in 2016.
Under her leadership, ABC has grown into a more than $22.3 billion enterprise with locations across the United States and Canada. The company has received 18 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Awards and two Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards, reflecting its employee-first culture.
Hendricks said ABC’s success comes from a simple principle — treating contractors with respect and giving them the tools to build their businesses. She is also committed to civic efforts in Beloit, where the company is headquartered.
