More than $20.8 million in projects for a middle school and high school in Ellsworth, Wisconsin have been completed.
Kraus-Anderson in late September announced it completed renovations at Ellsworth High School and Ellsworth Middle School. Projects were $14.6 million and $6.2 million respectively and were both designed by LHB Architects.
School work started in February 2025, Ellsworth School District officials said. In April 2024, referendum voters approved more than $25.4 million in debt for additions and renovations to the middle and high schools, data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction showed.
The high school renovation featured a 15,000-square-foot addition with a new fitness center and weight room, a greenhouse and career and technical spaces for welding, robotics, agriculture, family, consumer sciences and business programs education, Kraus-Anderson officials said.
Crews renovated interiors of classrooms, the lobby, school store, concessions area, science and technology labs and collaborative spaces, officials added.
There were also improvements made to safety and security, HVAC, plumbing, boiler and the electrical systems, officials said. The contractor also oversaw new parking lots, sidewalks and landscaping.
For the middle school, crews worked on new classrooms, science and technology labs, collaborative learning spaces and restrooms in a 99,174-square-foot project, officials said. There were also upgrades to safety and security, HVAC, plumbing, boiler, lighting and electrical systems. Crew also improved concrete walkways.
Kraus-Anderson completed more than $2.4 billion in PreK-12 projects across the Midwest over the past five years, officials added.
