Wangard Partners Inc. has announced the implementation of a long-term succession plan, which includes emerging leaders who will take on key, new roles in the company, as well as the creation of a new Board of Directors.
The building, opened in 1928 and originally occupied by Eagle Knitting Mills, is being turned into a center where students from nearby neighborhoods can receive training in construction and technology.
The Highlands Business Park is meant to give industrial, food-service, health-care, general-service and retail businesses convenient access to Interstate 94. The park’s sites for individual businesses will range in size from 1 to 30 acres.
The first phase of the project is to entail the construction of a tower with as many as 70 condominium units. The structure would stand near the Milwaukee River and have boat slips and boathouses. Two subsequent phases of the project could bring the unit count at the site as high as 250.
A new $75 million state crime lab and law enforcement center in the Milwaukee area and a 19th century-style brewery and beer garden at the Old World Wisconsin historic site were among the projects added to budget plans on Wednesday by the state Building Commission.
