Companies turn in bids for Highway 41 conversion projects

Bids have been received for portions of upcoming work on the conversion of Highway 41 into an interstate between Milwaukee and Green Bay.
In Winnebago County, Lunda Construction Co., Black River Falls, submitted the low bid for Highway 41 work on Highway 26 to Breezewood Lane and Highway 21 to 45. Lunda’s bid of $54,180,900.23 was lower than Brownsville-based Michels Corp. ($56.5 million) and Plain-based Edward Kraemer & Sons Inc. ($61.2 million).
For the Brown County portion of the project by Green Bay, Vinton Construction Co., Manitowoc, turned in the low bid for work from Morris Avenue to Memorial Drive. Vinton bid $29,540,517.22, while Lunda came in at $29,722,555.80. Black River Falls-based Hoffman Construction Co. ($31.5 million) and Michels ($36 million) also bid on the project.
