Airport upgrade projects get governor’s OK

Gov. Scott Walker approved nearly $6.5 million for airport improvement projects Wednesday, according to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation news releases.
Walker approved a $5,048,614 project to build a road and security fencing at Oshkosh’s Wittman Regional Airport, which is expected to be complete by June 2014.
He approved a $640,353 project for new T-hangars and approach lighting at Monroe County’s Sparta/Fort McCoy Airport, which is expected to be complete by fall 2013.
He approved $559,456 for the Kenosha Regional Airport to buy snow removal equipment this year.
He approved a $245,614 project for a new electrical vault building and runway lighting at Ashland’s John F. Kennedy Memorial Airport, which is expected to be complete by August 2013.
