BUILDING BLOCKS: New Banker Wire headquarters

SIGNIFICANCE PROJECT: Banker Wire, a manufacturer of woven and welded wire mesh for architectural and industrial uses, had its previous headquarters about two miles away from its new building. The new 182,000 headquarters consists of both corporate offices and a manufacturing plant.

It will let Banker Wire custom design its work spaces to better accommodate employees and improve production and efficiency. Its features include a health center; large gathering spaces with media displays for company-wide meetings and employee training; a room where architects, designers and other clients can view work samples and finishes; and a state-of-the-art air-circulation system.

The new headquarters will also make it easier for Banker Wire to accept raw materials, turn them into finished products and ship those products to customers. Equipment at the plant can be modified to make products that can be as small as a single square foot and as large 150,000 square feet.
